Sonya Mingo-Coakley is the visionary Founder of The McRel Group, an organization driven by her deep passion for helping American families, through meticulous audits of governmental agencies, reclaim assets that rightfully belong to them. Her commitment to advocating for the financial well-being of others has been the cornerstone of The McRel Group’s mission since its inception.

Sonya has been married for over 30 years to her high school sweetheart, Attorney Jerrold Coakley. Sonya’s children have joined her in the business as partners and executive leaders at The McRel Group, making the company a true family-led enterprise. Now, with her children by her side in leadership positions, the company has become an even stronger force in the industry. Together, they bring diverse perspectives, innovative strategies, and a shared dedication to their clients' success.

Sonya’s early career began in the banking industry, where she worked while pursuing her education. Her experiences as a therapist for over a decade revealed the significant impact financial stress and hardship has on mental health, which inspired her to take action. This realization fueled her dedication to assisting hard-working Americans in recovering unclaimed funds, leading to the creation of The McRel Group.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Sonya is deeply rooted in her faith and community. She is an active leader in her church and the founder of both the Sonya Mingo-Coakley Ministries and Shē Women’s Ministry, where she empowers and supports women in their personal and spiritual growth.

You can find Sonya spending time with her family, in the art studio painting and creating pottery on the pottery wheel or cuddled up with her sweet and lovable third baby- her 7 month old multipoo during her free time. Quiet moments on the beach enjoying the beauty of sunrises and sunsets is her all-time favorite way to start or end her day.
