Jerrold Coakley is a seasoned Transactional Attorney and Outside General Counsel with over 25 years of experience as an attorney and corporate executive. A proud graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, Jerrold holds an MBA from Western Michigan University and earned his undergraduate degree from Liberty University. Licensed and admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Michigan, Jerrold has built a career advising corporations and guiding them through complex legal and business matters.

Before transitioning to corporate America, Jerrold served his community and state as a Michigan State Trooper and Detective for six years. Although he comes from a family with a strong tradition of military service, he chose to serve in law enforcement, where he gained invaluable experience that has shaped his approach to problem-solving and client advocacy.

Jerrold is a devoted family man with deep-rooted values in faith, family, and country. He comes from a family that honors God and has a strong love for the United States, with the men in his family having proudly served in the military. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Sonya Mingo-Coakley, for over 30 years, and together they have raised two children. His faith and relationship with Jesus Christ play a central role in his life, and he is actively involved in his church and family ministry, where he finds joy in helping and pouring into others.

Outside of his professional life, Jerrold enjoys playing golf, watching sports—particularly as a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys—and is an avid Star Wars enthusiast. He is also known for his passion for Shark Week, during which he can be found fully immersed in every episode. Jerrold’s dedication to his family, faith, and community are the cornerstones of his life, and he brings those same values into his work as a trusted legal advisor.
